Maintaining Your New Smile
Our team in Lake Oswego encourages you to continue wearing your retainers long after your treatment: to keep your smile looking its best. If you don't wear your retainers routinely, you run the risk of your teeth shifting out of place again and requiring further orthodontic treatment.
Now, even though you've made the commitment to wearing your retainers, we understand that accidents happen. If you regularly lose or break your retainer, our Smile Protection Program can help!
Replacing retainers can be costly. But with our Smile Protection Program, you pay a one time fee, and your retainer replacements over the next five years will only cost you a small co-pay each time.
If you find yourself frequently needing to replace your retainers, the Smile Protection Program can help you save money while you continue to prioritize the smile you worked so hard for!
Flexible Payment Plans
A beautiful, healthy smile can boost your confidence and allow you to be your best self. To help bring your best smile closer to fruition, our team can work with you to create a zero-interest payment plan to fit your budget. Because you deserve it.
Smile Protection Program FAQs
Our team at Orthodontic Specialists of Lake Oswego answer some frequently asked questions about our Smile Protection Program:
-
How does the program work?
When you require a retainer replacement, give us a call as soon as possible. We will invite you to come back into our practice, and confirm if you need upper and lower retainers, or which arch. In some cases, an impression may be required, or we will simply take a scan of your teeth. You will be invited to pick up your new retainers a few days later.
-
Are there any costs for me after I pay the fee?
Yes, there is a co-pay of $30 per arch, $75 if you need a new scan.
-
What happens if I don’t wear my retainer?
Just because your orthodontic treatment is finished doesn’t mean that your teeth are going to stay in place.
If you don’t wear your retainer, your teeth will shift back into their old positions. If you don’t wear your retainer, you may need orthodontic intervention again within 10 years, or even sooner.
-
Are there any types of loss/damage that aren’t covered?
Most types of loss and damage are covered. Contact us if you’re looking for more specific information.
-
How long should I wait after breaking/losing my retainer to contact you about getting a replacement?

-
How many times can I replace my retainer?
You can order one set of retainers per quarter.
-
Which types of payments do you accept?
We accept Visa, Mastercard, check or cash.
-
When I need a new retainer, will I need to get new impressions done?
In some cases, an impression or scan may be necessary when getting new retainers.
-
Is it worth the money?
Without the Smile Protection Program, the cost of an individual retainer replacement is $225. That means $450 for a set - the Smile Protection Program offers the convenience of getting retainer replacements over the course of five years without having to worry about paying this cost out of pocket every time!
